Data Deletion

Deleting your data from SlideReply

You control your data. This page explains, in full, every way to remove it — whether you wish to disconnect a single Instagram account, delete your entire SlideReply account, or remove the app from within Instagram. Each option is self-serve and requires no email and no approval. The three options differ in what is erased at once and what is retained for a short, defined period before automatic deletion, so please read the option you intend to use and choose accordingly.

This is also the page Meta links to when you request data deletion through Instagram. If you arrived here from such a request, your confirmation appears at the top of this page.

Option 1 — Disconnect an Instagram account

In the SlideReply dashboard, open Settings and choose Disconnect Instagram on the account concerned. With immediate effect, this:

  • stops all messaging for that account;
  • severs the connection and permanently deletes the stored Instagram access token, so we can no longer act for that account;
  • suspends and ceases all processing of that account’s data.

Because disconnection is designed to be reversible — so that you may reconnect the same account later without rebuilding your set-up — your automations, saved contacts, conversations and metrics for that account are retained during a limited grace period of 28 days from disconnection. If you reconnect within that period, your set-up is restored. If you do not, that interaction data is automatically and permanently deleted at the end of the grace period. Short-lived operational data (such as Open Leads and Recent Replies previews, and conversation state) expires automatically in the ordinary course, as described under “Timeline” below.

Use this option when you wish to stop using SlideReply for one account while keeping your SlideReply login and any other connected accounts.

If you would rather not wait out the grace period, once an account is disconnected the Settings screen offers a Remove action. Choosing Remove permanently and immediately deletes that account’s interaction data — its campaigns, DMs and stats (including saved contacts, conversations, hot-lead records, and Open Leads and Recent Replies previews) — while keeping your SlideReply login so you can connect a different Instagram account. This erases the same data the grace-period sweep would eventually remove, but at once and without the possibility of restoring it by reconnecting.

Alternatively, if you require the immediate and permanent erasure of an account’s interaction data, you may also use Delete account (Option 2) or remove the app from within Instagram (Option 3), each of which deletes that data at once rather than after the grace period.

Option 2 — Delete your entire SlideReply account

To remove everything, open Settings in the dashboard and choose Delete account. We first confirm your identity — by your password, or, if you use Google sign-in, by your authenticated session — and, where a paid subscription is active, cancel it. We then permanently and immediately delete your login and all associated data across every connected account in a single operation: your credentials and sessions, every automation, your saved contacts and leads, processed-comment records, conversation state, Open Leads and Recent Replies previews, hot-lead and activity records, your encrypted Instagram access tokens, and the connection itself.

Prefer email? Write to privacy@slidereply.com from the email address registered on your account and ask us to delete it. We will verify the request and complete the deletion within 30 days, and ordinarily much sooner.

Option 3 — Remove SlideReply from Instagram

You can revoke SlideReply’s access from inside Instagram: open Instagram, go to Settings Apps and websites and remove SlideReply.

When you do this, Meta notifies SlideReply automatically (through the deauthorization callback Instagram calls). On receiving that signal we delete the data tied to your Instagram account — you do not need to do anything else here.

What we delete and what we keep

Deleted: your encrypted Instagram access tokens and the account connection; every automation you created; the comments, keyword replies, story replies and live comments processed for you; conversation state and the Open Leads and Recent Replies previews of incoming messages; saved contacts, leads and hot-lead records; activity and delivery records (including “seen” signals); and your login credentials and active sessions.

Retained only where the law requires: we may retain a minimal set of transaction and tax records (for example, invoices for payments you made) for the period we are legally required to keep them. Such records are, where practicable, de-identified, and are never used to power automations or to contact you for marketing.

Retained transiently, then automatically deleted: where you disconnect an account (rather than deleting it or using the immediate Remove action), that account’s interaction data is retained for the 28-day reconnect grace period described in Option 1 before automatic deletion. Short-lived operational data — such as Open Leads and Recent Replies previews, conversation state, and message-status markers — expires automatically within the periods set out under “Timeline” below.

Timeline

Delete account, the Remove action on a disconnected account, and removal of the app from within Instagram take effect immediately, erasing that account’s interaction data at once. Disconnecting stops all messaging and deletes the access token immediately, while that account’s interaction data is retained for the 28-day reconnect grace period before automatic deletion (see Option 1).

Short-lived operational data expires automatically: Open Leads and Recent Replies previews and conversation state ordinarily within approximately 24 hours, scheduled follow-up instructions within a few days, and message-status (“seen”) markers no later than 90 days. Any residual copies persisting in operational logs, caches or encrypted backups are purged, or automatically age out, in the ordinary course and in any event within 90 days as those systems rotate.
